The Death Guide is not an emergency or crisis service.

Urgent help information

Contact The Death Guide

You can begin with a few words.

You do not need to know which service to ask for. Tell Damien what is happening, what feels difficult and how you would prefer to be contacted.

A brief introductory telephone call or email enquiry is free. If further paid work may be useful, the likely approach and cost will be discussed before anything is booked.

Contact options

Use whichever way feels easiest.

Telephone and email are both suitable for a first enquiry. Appointments may then take place by telephone, video call or in person where appropriate.

Telephone 0478 707 314

Telephone enquiries: 10am–3pm, Monday to Friday. Booked appointments may sometimes be available outside those hours by arrangement.

Email help@thedeathguide.com.au

Email enquiries may be sent at any time. The inbox is not continuously monitored for urgent or crisis situations.

Not sure where to begin?

Choose the description closest to what is happening.

For yourself or someone you care about

Enquire about grief support, end-of-life planning, a difficult family situation, support for a child or young person, or another concern around death and dying.

A death has occurred

If you need immediate funeral transfer or funeral-home assistance locally, call Macquarie Valley Funerals on (02) 6372 2331. The care line is available 24 hours.

For an organisation or community

Include the organisation, audience, subject or purpose, preferred format, location and any timing you already know for a workshop, presentation or facilitated discussion.

Media or professional enquiry

Email is usually best for interviews, speaking enquiries, collaborations or contact from health, care, government, education and other professional services.

Funeral care outside the local area: you may contact your chosen funeral director first. Damien can discuss whether The Death Guide may provide additional planning, writing, coordination or family support alongside them.

What to include

A short message is enough.

  • Your name and preferred way to be contacted.
  • A brief explanation of what is happening or what you need help with.
  • Your town or general location if in-person or local support may be needed.
  • Any timing that matters, without sending more personal detail than feels necessary.

You can share more after Damien responds and you have decided whether a conversation would be useful.

Your privacy

Use private contact channels for personal information.

Telephone and email enquiries are handled privately and used to understand and respond to your request. Do not place personal or sensitive information in public social-media comments or messages intended for general page administration.

If counselling or ongoing personal support begins, confidentiality, record keeping, safety exceptions and the terms of the service will be explained before the work proceeds.

If email is not comfortable for you, begin with a telephone call and share only what is needed to arrange the next step.

Damien is based in the Central West and regularly travels across Mudgee, Rylstone, Kandos, Gulgong, Bathurst, Orange, Dubbo, Lithgow, Coolah, Dunedoo and surrounding communities.

Support may also be available across western NSW, Greater Sydney and elsewhere in NSW. Telephone and video appointments can make many services available regardless of location.

If life is in danger, someone may act on thoughts of suicide or urgent medical assistance is needed, call Triple Zero (000).

Begin when you are ready

Tell Damien what is happening.

You can begin with a question, a practical problem or simply the part that feels hardest right now.
